The next meeting of the Alaska Orchid Society is scheduled for Tuesday, August 23 at 6:00 PM at the home of Paul Marmora.  We have visited Paul a couple of times, but it has been a few years.  He has a lot of mounted miniature orchids as well as many bonsai trees.  You might have seen Paul at the Bonsai booth next to us at the Sears Mall Annual Spring Flower and Garden Show last April.  In any case, he just got back to town and has generously allowed us to visit, though he says it may not be as sparkling as usual.  I assured him his plants would hold our interest.  This will be a treat!  Paul lives at 3516 Cottonwood Street in a bright yellow house with lots of plants everywhere, including tables and pots in the driveway.  If you turn north onto Cottonwood Street off 36th avenue just east of the Seward Hwy, you will quickly arrive at his house.  You won’t want to miss out on this treat.
