We will begin gathering at 6:30 PM on May 26 at the BP Energy Center at the corner of the Seward Highway and Benson Blvd.  Marilyn Barker, retired UAA botany professor, will present a program on Spaghnum moss.  Sphagnum is a material we use in repotting our orchids.  You may not know that it grows all around us in the forests of Alaska.  Marilyn will enlighten us on this unique and unobtrusive plant.
